Well there you go. Another season done and dusted. A season where
- Steve found his batting mojo again
- I suddenly thought that I might have a batting mojo somewhere in the house
- I hardly managed double figures in wickets taken
- But our 1st XI nearly got promoted, and ...
- We finally got to see Australia play in Edinburgh
Here in Edinburgh it suddenly feels like winter has arrived. As the nights draw in and the rain sets in for good, what better time to post this?
A GOOD INNINGS
Was it all about yourself
and what you could make;
"decent" totals,
disregarding
abuse hurled from the boundary?
Were you just the supporting man,
anchor, weight, security;
ballast for
brighter lights
who couldn't shine without you?
Was it all grim survival,
leaving what you could;
dead-bat,
half-chance,
the grinding out of time?
Were you in complete control,
dictating and conducting;
self-assured,
upright in
your own time and space?
Did you blaze away
and thrash the gathering gloom?
Did you see THAT ball?
Did you play across the line;
fail to pick it,
too quick?
Did you find the track untrue?

Hey sorry to be off topic but this is the only way I could contact you. I am writing from Singapore. I am part of a team of fresh college graduates currently working on an online Cricket game called Howzat,due to be launched soon.
ReplyDeleteCould I invite you for an online gaming session, and you could help provide us feedback and review our efforts? It will take about 15 minutes.
Please e-mail me at aman.gamev@gmail.com if you're interested. Sincere thanks.
Hello there,
ReplyDeleteI've recently just set up a new blog lifting the grotty lid on club cricket in England, loosely based around my own cricket club Chorley St. James' Cricket Club, however I plan to comment on the world of cricket in a more broader view too taking a swipe at everything from Ken Brays bald spot to the amazingly jazzy IPL thunderbus.
Take a peek

I'd be happy to help you out in any way I could, and as a novice blogger I also am looking for any tips or hints on how to get my stuff out there so it can be sniggered at, closed and never seen again by the whole online cricket community
Just wondered if you wanted to link up and be on each others blog roll as a fellow cricketing blog, and if you could help me avoid any wronguns of online cricket blogging.
Cheers
Keep a good length
Graham
I'd like to invite cricket fans to try my test cricket simulation game. The game contains over 2000 statistic-based representations of Test players from the eight major cricketing countries from 1877-2009 - literally every Test cricketer of all time! It's free with no registration or downloads required.
